Most wonderful time of the year
I love this picture for multiple reasons. First, and most obvious, the Christmas tree! It's one of my favorite things about Christmas, right behind the non-stop jolly music that can be found on just about every radio station. I also love this picture because this happens to be my favorite mannequin. We have endless mannequins dressed one after the other in H. Freeman and Oxxford suits, tuxedos, sport coats... But not the Michael (I name every one of our mannequins. I may be partial to this one for a couple reasons.) He's wearing a pair of charcoal made-to-measure Corbin slacks with a blue Eildon Hills v-neck wool sweater. I chose the Michael for this picture because what could be a more perfect Christmas gift for Mr. Particular than a classic v-neck or quarter zip sweater. It doesn't hurt that we have just about every color of the spectrum available. So if you're on the search for a gift for the man who has it all, who couldn't use another warm sweater for a day like today?!
And don't forget BOCC gift cards make the perfect stocking stuffers!

It's Wedding Season
It's mid-May, the Lifestyle section of the Sunday paper is slightly bulkier than usual and every female you know is practically glowing! We all know what this means. It's wedding season. This post is going to speak to all of you Bridegroom-elects who have been given the sometimes daunting task of choosing you and your groomsmen's attire for the big day (even though she may or may not have already decided on what you will be wearing and is waiting for you to make the right decision without her telling you what that right decision is).
For those of you who haven't tuned in to the most recent episode of Say Yes to the Dress or unfortunately had to miss out on the last 4 bridal shows your fiancée attended due to all that last minute "work" that popped up, weddings have grown from a million dollar industry to a multi-billion dollar industry. These were once events joining two people in marriage and were all very similar for the most part. They have now morphed into events that, if done right, should be talked about and remembered for the rest of the year.
Because men don't usually plan too far in advance, it's completely understood that you probably haven't put too much thought into your attire. Especially given that in the past grooms and their groomsmen have rented a black, peak lapel tuxedo with really only one major decision: Cummerbund and bow tie or vest and tie?
Weddings today, especially in the South, have become more personal. You have the freedom to choose what reflects your style not only as the groom but as a couple. The number of outdoor weddings has increased dramatically in the past few years and the style has shifted from extremely traditional to over the top personalized. The most popular trend these days is the Rustic Chic wedding, which has put many grooms in a more vintage trim fitting suit or tux, suitable for an episode of Mad Men. Weddings have become slightly less formal (we won't say more casual so as to not upset the ladies) and more relaxed. It's now appropriate to dress in a style that feels more at home and comfortable.
One trend in particular, which you will find more in the South than anywhere, that has really taken off is the cotton, linen and even seersucker suit (of course only after Easter and before Labor Day). These suits are perfect for a destination beach wedding or an outdoor ceremony in the afternoon or earlier in the evening. Many Spring and early Fall grooms will choose a tan or light gray suit for an earlier wedding and a dark blue or charcoal suit for a less formal evening event. The major perk of choosing suits instead of renting tuxedos: That suit will be around for as long as you need it to be.
Don't forget you can also purchase tuxedos or dinner jackets for that more formal, traditional wedding with that same benefit. You won't ever have to rent a tux again, even for the last minute party your better half springs on you the morning of New Years Eve.
Whatever your and your bride-to-be's style, we can help you to carry on the trend of making your attire reflect your personality, whether it be in rented tuxedos with monogrammed cuff links (the perfect groomsman gift) or cotton poplin suits with matching made-to-measure shirts and ties. There are plenty of options to choose from and no matter the route you take, we guarantee you will look your best.

Why we love Oxxford
If you've ever owned an Oxxford, you know there's something about it; it's not just another suit. But some of you may not be able to really put your finger on what that difference is other than it works. Well what better way to show their customers the quality and craftsmanship that they put into each and every garment they make than let them see it, step by step. Hand tailoring is really an art for these people, and they are truly artists. You heard him... "nothing wears as well as an Oxxford suit." If you don't know this first hand, you owe it yourself to find out.
